Tourist Rentings in Bavaro / Punta Cana
El Cortecito / Bavaro / Punta Cana

El Cortecito
El Cortecito is an ancient fishing village converted into a shopping area located very near El Dorado Village and Los Corales. There are small shops and stalls where you can buy souvenirs, rum and snuff to take us to our home country.

In such stores the purchase mode is by bargaining, so that sellers typically ask much more money by the item you're interested than it is worth. If you are skilled in this technique, you can get anything you want at least 50% cheaper, and if they don't want it lower you can threaten to go to another store and so they make you a discount greater.

En El Cortecito we can find all kinds of products, such as key chains, postcards, towels, bracelets, necklaces, small figures, etc..., but the most common items, no doubt, are the paintings, of singular beauty. You also can not miss the rum, the typical drink of the country, so also are typical all kinds of pures.

In addition to these businesses, in El Cortecito we can also find some bars and restaurants where you can sample local or international foods and drinks.

Bavaro
Beyond El Cortecito, about 2 km from Los Corales, is the town of Bavaro, with a great buzz of people, both local and foreign alike.

In the beginning, Bavaro was conceived as a dormitory town for workers of different resorts in Punta Cana, but today has become a city with all kind of services and amenities, due to the expansion of tourism around Playa Bavaro, becoming a major tourist area famous worldwide. Not surprisingly, Playa Bavaro is considered by UNESCO as the best beach in the world.

Maybe two are the main centers of Bavaro, Plaza Friusa and Plaza Bavaro. The first, at the junction of the road to Arena Gorda with EspaƱa Avenue, it may be the most lively and services square of all Bavaro. There you can find banks, locutorios, the tourist police headquarters (Politur) and shuttle bus to Higuey and Santo Domingo, and all kinds of shops, restaurants, bars, discos and nightclubs. Plaza Bavaro, however, is a more tourist-oriented, with gift shops and bars, that when night falls become outdoor discos.

Bavaro is also known for the many all-inclusive resorts that exists, many of which are located casinos and discos that are full of people from dusk until dawn. We highlight the Princess Tower Casino castle-shaped of Bavaro Princess Hotel, and Mangu Disco of Occidental Flamenco Hotel, which are located on both sides of Plaza Bavaro.

Other attractions in Bavaro are its malls, noting especially the Palma Real Shopping Village, in Barcelo Avenue, near El Dorado Village, with cinemas, shops, restaurants, bars, and a free bus service from 11:30 to 20:00 just passing by the road in front of El Dorado Village. Also in Barcelo Avenue, and very close of above, is the San Juan Shopping Center, another mall of great importance in the area.

Punta Cana
Beyond these malls, eastward, Barcelo Avenue joins Este Boulevard, reaching to the Punta Cana airport about 20 minutes from El Dorado Village. This place is really that responds to the name of Punta Cana, ad where around the airport several malls are located with shops, services and entertainment of interest to travelers.
